This is a short story that was included at the end of "Kitty Goes to Washington." I always enjoy Kitty's show and this story was no exception. I particularly liked the twist at the end. ( ) Kitty and the Midnight Hour: I enjoyed this book. The premise was original, the main character promising. Kitty is torn between her wolf side and human side--with her wolf side being displayed via italicised prose. However, the ending left a lot to be desired (I don't have to have a happy ending, but this one didn't feel right). The author drives home the point that the wolf side of werewolves is instinctual and difficult to overcome. Kitty is constantly fighting an urge to be submissive to dominant "wolves." So much so, that it gets annoying. Yet, at the end, the two alpha werewolves display behavior that seems to violate wolf behavior! Perhaps the ending was required to set Kitty on a necessary plot path, but it rang false. I'll definitely pick up the sequel. The sequels did indeed improve over the first novel. Readers are introduced to vampires and other shapeshifters through Kitty, and the "myteries" improve greatly. Definitely recommended for urban fantasy fans! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
