Willa Cather was a brilliant American author who wrote evocative novels mainly about frontier life on the Great Plains of Nebraska, in her early works - Alexander's Bridge, O Pioneers , My Antonia, and The Song of the Lark. However, her next novel, "One of Ours" was set during World War I and she received the Pulitzer Prize for it in 1923.
