My kids didn’t really have an opinion about this book the first time I read it to them. The second time, however, my oldest, who is seven, asked a few questions and said that he liked the book. He was especially curious when it came to the words “merienda” and “pan de sol” since he likes reading books about other cultures. ( ) This is a wonderful short story that children who have a hard time falling asleep would certainly be able to appreciate. Even some adults who have a bit of insomnia may find little Mabel's advice to have some merit. After all, children do come up with creative and interesting ways of solving problems! Got this book and "Are You There, God" from Sittiecates, and thought they were both great children's books. More importantly, my kid loved them and thought they were super. She manages to capture much of the innocence and wide-eyed wonder of children and conveys these things beautifully. I absolutely recommend this one! PH This was a very cute story. Mabel tried several different methods to fall asleep but nothing seemed to work for her. But Mabel doesn't give up she keeps trying until something finally works. I enjoyed this story. I think young readers will like reading it. I also found the drawings to be a great addition to the story, they resembled the illustrations a child would do if they were creating their own story. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
