I knew of the name Heathcliff, but did not know who this character was. I really enjoyed the book the first time I read it, and I still do today. I would not call Heathcliff nor Cathy wonderful people, but the love they share is truly everlasting. They are so much like one another. The same headstrong personality, the same love for one another, and yet it is Cathy's self-centeredness that keeps them apart. The one thing I noticed though is that Heathcliff could have been like Hinton's son, loving and gentle if he had not been so mistreated by society and those of the upper class. A great book, if you have haven't read it, you really should! ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
