Caveman is a fictionalized account of the true story of Amos Wilson, a young man who shunned society and lived alone for 19 years in a Pennsylvania cave during the early 19th century. His self-chosen fate and the unfortunate demise of his beloved sister, Harriot, are true but leave unanswered questions. Was heavy flooding responsible for Harriots death, or was the infanticide for which she was convicted and hanged just Providence exercising its right? Did she even commit the crime? No one knows for sure, as the legend has changed over time. Before his death in 1821, Amos found solace through seclusion and religion while living in the cave. He is a part of American history and a part of all of us who have faced heartbreak and hopelessness. Ever wish you could live alone, away from society? Be careful. Your wish might come true.
