I got 25% into this book before finally deciding to put it down. When reading any book becomes a chore, it's not worth it. I don't know if I'll ever pick this book up again to give it another try, but I doubt it.
Told in first person through the eyes of three college friends ... this book begins to hint at the paranormal troubles on campus around 20-23%. Ghosts, vampires, 'monsters' of some sort ... but even the promise of more horror - or any horror - couldn't bring me to keep reading.
The three characters have zero personality. We know Jo is gay, Ami is a goth and Regina hosts a talk radio show. But those facts don't make up for the distinct lack of personality.
Other characters are introduced. Matt who can't get laid, Owen who's a monster of some sort, Andy who jumped to his death, Ethan who's probably a vampire ... and each of them make as much impact on me as the three protagonists.
This book was boring. There were no characters, only outlines of where characters should be. I hate not finishing a book, but this one isn't even memorable enough for me to regret it.
This review is all I'll have to remember Fright Radio.
