Review:
In this children's book, i loved all of the fun sounded that the author incorporated into the story. It made it really fun to read. I remember when I was younger I always loved books where I could "act out" in a way the words, like the animals noises in the book.

Summary:
This children's book, "Down by the Barn", by Will Hillenbrand is about farm animals riding along on a tractor to go to the little kids at the bus stop so a nice scarecrow can read them a story. ( )

This book contains very little words combined with large pictures. Many children who have trouble readings may go to the detailed illustrations on each page to help with their comprehension. I really enjoyed how this book contained onomatopoeia. The author did a good job with grabbing readers attention by using the onomatopoeia. For example, the author wrote, "See the tractor driver pull his little lever...puff, puff, click, clank, moo, moo, peep, peep, off we go!" Readers are able to retain their attention to the book with the variety of sound words and pictures.

Summary: In this book, the farmer uses his tractor to travel around his farm. Each morning, he drives his tractor to each animal on his farm and picks them up. He then drives all the animals to the children's barn. Children then get off a school bus to go play with the animals that the farmer drove over to them. ( )
