A book about counting and sharing, with a fun rhyme scheme.

This book provides a fun way to teach counting. Along with standard counting, this book teaches skip counting and doubling. I think it is very age appropriate and can be utilized in different ways.

The story starts out with two bears and one big pair of underwear. One bear hets the underwear leaving the other out. The story continues this pattern, adding one more animal to each scenario but always having one too little of the desired objects, leaving one animal out in each scenario. This is until the reader gets to twenty pigs who each want to go down the ten waterslides so they decide to share. All the previous animals then see how much fun sharing is and decide to give it a try.

This counting book offers vibrant illustrations, great of read alouds, and noticeable, predictable patterns. Young students would enjoy reading this book with the easy mastery of sing-song style wording. And what students don’t like talking about underwear?!
