Dr. Turner Brooks may be the professional brother, but he's also the adrenaline junkie. When he meets Annabelle, a girl scared to death of veering from the path she's paved for herself, all he wants to do is push her out of that comfort zone. Annabelle has already lost too much. She wants to stay focused on her new nursing job and away from unnecessary risks. Turner Brooks, rumored to be a "womanizer" and "sex god," is exactly that-an unnecessary risk. Still, Turner tries to teach her that life is full of risks worth taking. As they grow closer and Annabelle begins to let go, the unexpected happens. Will they be able to recover from that surprising fastball, or could this be the final strikeout?Contains mature themes. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Turner was difficult to like. He was a selfish manwhore for the start of the book. It was a well known fact around the hospital where he worked. Not really an attractive quality. Annabelle is afraid of relationships because her parents died. I found it difficult to connect with either of these characters really. I thought Annabelle was really overreacting by avoiding all relationships. I also didn't like that Turner was a bit cold and distant.
So, what did I like? I liked the ways Turner tried to push Annabelle's boundaries. I liked the connection between Annabelle and the baby. It was really good symbolism for her own feelings. Overall this is a good contemporary romance. It wasn't anything fresh or new, but its well written and a pretty quick read. ( )
