The 100... is a ranking and discussion of the one hundred most influential people in the history of American soccer. This is NOT a book listing the one hundred greatest American soccer players, nor is it a book listing the hundred greatest Americans in soccer. Instead, this is an attempt to judge the impact and the importance an individual has held on soccer in America. Many of our individuals discussed are not Americans, yet they still held great sway over the development of soccer in the United States. Some of our individuals have never kicked a soccer ball in their life, and yet, they are every bit as important as the star players and coaches also discussed in this book. Each entry gives you a biographical sketch about the individual and their career as well as some context of their role in developing the sport in America. At the end of each entry is a brief prediction on where the individual is expected to be ranked if we were to make a new list in five or ten years' time. Rory Miller has previously contributed to The American Soccer History Archives and The Shin Guardian. His e-book, Free Kicks, A Novel About Pro Soccer In the US, topped Amazon's e-book sales under the subcategory of Soccer. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
