Oh, I was so excited to see this book come out, the second in the Unexpected series by [a:Silvia Violet|301002|Silvia Violet|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1355486314p2/301002.jpg] about a group of Navy SEALS who physically survived an ambush during a overseas mission, but who are now psychologically traumatized by the events that killed one of their teammates. I loved the first book [b:Unexpected Rescue|18713972|Unexpected Rescue (Unexpected #1)|Silvia Violet|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1382615430s/18713972.jpg|26575508] and gave it 5 stars and put it on my favorites shelf, but while I enjoyed the second book, [b:Unexpected Trust|22734539|Unexpected Trust|Silvia Violet|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1405552813s/22734539.jpg|41958106], it didn't dazzle me like the first one did.

[b:Unexpected Trust|22734539|Unexpected Trust|Silvia Violet|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1405552813s/22734539.jpg|41958106] tells the story of retired Navy SEAL and current FBI Agent MC Hugh "Sport" Cranford. He is assigned to a super-duper-top-secret mission that his FBI handler is not even briefed about and sent off on his own. His mission is to watch and make a connection between known spy MC Danny O’Sullivan and one of the men known to have orchestrated the ambush on his SEAL team many years ago. It turns out Danny has taken an interest in Sport's work as an FBI Agent and knows he is coming and the sexual tension starts from the moment these men make eye contact. And, damn if they aren't hot as Hades together! But I had a hard time understanding just where these two were coming from and where they where they were eventually going. It made for some impersonal sex for me, which I don't really care for, hot or not. *shrugs*

I read this one in one sitting, late at night, so I lost part of the spy/military/FBI/CIA story towards the end. I'm telling you that because I think the fault was mine, not Ms. Violet's. I couldn't put this one down! I needed a resolution to Sport and Danny's relationship before I could sleep so my groggy brain failed me.

I am really enjoying this series (I kind of have a thing for damaged military boys) and am excited for the next one. I can recommend this one to me fellow M/M romance military fans, yes, but if you haven't read [b:Unexpected Rescue|18713972|Unexpected Rescue (Unexpected #1)|Silvia Violet|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1382615430s/18713972.jpg|26575508], I'd read that one first. It was better than this one and will help explain a lot of what is happening in this book. Yes, this can be read as a stand alone, but you'll lose a lot of the back story and everything about Jackson and Addy's relationship if you don't read [b:Unexpected Rescue|18713972|Unexpected Rescue (Unexpected #1)|Silvia Violet|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1382615430s/18713972.jpg|26575508] first.
