Melchiorri may be classified as Sci-fi because it’s set in 2094, but the story is a wonderful combination of mystery, thriller and suspense. Melchiorri opens strong with a vividly described setting in Estonia. The futuristic concepts and advancements in technology are well researched and believable. They are easy to digest and don’t deflect from the plot’s suspense. Melchiorri’s eye for detail and continuity creates a well-structured novel with excellent pacing that balances the action, suspense and revelations. My only complaint is that the ending felt rushed. Melchiorri ties together the plotlines with a satisfactory conclusion but some of the final dialogue felt forced, and the “moral lesson” felt didactic. If not now I'm sure not too far in the future. It was a great example of determination, strength and perseverance. The human desire for survival. It was definitely a quick and exciting read. I expected an Estonian type of book and got more of a futuristic book with an Estonian feel. It is almost nerve wracking to see the technological advances of today and reality of what could be. "The Human Forged" gives you something to think about. If you like FBI, CIA government conspiracies/cover up this is a fast pace short read for you. I enjoyed it. The Human Forged was given to me for my honest review. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
In an escape from the tethers of modern technology, former Army Specialist Nick Corrigan ventures into an underground rave in an abandoned Estonian prison. There, he is abducted and cut off from the rest of the world, including his fiancée. He unwittingly becomes embroiled in a biotechnological nightmare and embarks on a dangerous adventure to return home. The only person that might be able to help him is a man Nick never knew existed-his clone. Back in Washington, CIA analyst Sara Monahan makes a startling discovery while tracking the use of biological weapons in an ongoing war in Africa. She races to uncover a global conspiracy that may shake the very essence of what it means to be human. THE HUMAN FORGED is a thought-provoking thriller packed with pulse-racing action, global medical conspiracies, and scientific intrigue. It raises frightening questions about a future that may be just around the corner. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

When Nick goes to a rave at an abandoned Estonian prison, he has no idea that he is about to be abducted and wake up years later to find out he's been cloned. It then becomes a fight for his life as he tries to find a way to escape back home to his fiancee and get justice for not only his clones, but the other clones he encounters. It really makes you think about the future of science, and what we could be in for if scientists ever reach that point. The science itself is actually well-explained and not just glazed over, showing that the author really does know what he's talking about, which makes the story that much better.
