The book pushes readers to think about tough issues. The main character, Muhammad is determined to help poverty in his home country of Bangladesh. He sets up a loan system that allows the women to barrow small amounts of money in groups. Even though he has no reason to trust the women, he gives them the benefit of the doubt and it pays off because he wins the Nobel Peace Prize and helps to eliminate poverty. Also, this book uses descriptive language. The book explains words such as loan, interest, economics, and many more. Overall the point of this book is to inform readers on the importance of Muhammad Yunas, Grameen Bank and their determination to end poverty in Bangladesh. An engaging, informative introduction to the Nobel Peace Prize-winning activist who developed the microcredit economic movement that gives small loans to the impoverished with the goal of breaking the cycle of rural poverty around the world. An inspiring story, told well and appealingly illustrated. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
