Meanwhile, a campaign aide, Peach Piper, is doing some investigation of her own. Her brother, you see, was also killed when Fairmont's husband was assassinated on the dais. Piper's and Bolton's paths cross, and soon it becomes apparent Bolton can no longer work in the best interests of the campaign as it becomes clear the killer is still on the loose. While the story was interesting, I don't think it did as much as the first book in creating Cab Bolton as an endearing character. I'll still give the next one a go, though.
