I know that many times, books are different than the movies. Especially when it comes to Disney making the movies. But I wasn't expecting this much of a difference!

I won't tell the differences because I know there are people who have not read this book but have seen the Disney's version of the Little Mermaid.

The book for me was good, but not great. I don't know why, it just wasn't something I could totally get into. But, of course, I didn't really expect to get into it totally. It wasn't the total difference that made me not get into it, actually, I think that's what made me like it (except maybe a part with the Prince, but it redeems itself later on towards the end).

I guess for me, I don't really like stories like this and why I never really read the Fairy Tales, even the super kiddy versions. I'd just prefer to watch the movies! lol

Once the little mermaid got to the part where she was able to go to shore, it became a bit more interesting for me and I began to enjoy it more. Up until then, I was just barely interested but wanted to know what else was different and how the story actually went. And although I do like this story, I do believe I like the Disney version so much more! (And if you have read or do read this book in the future, you will know why)

Maybe if I had read the story first...I may see things differently, but maybe I wouldn't. I don't know. But, because I knew the alternate story first, I like that one a little bit more..with the exception of a few things (That, again, I will not mention because I don't like to give spoilers, even if they have a way to hide them. I like giving people the option of going into stories with an open mind & the option of being surprised..but that is my personal opinion, not downing anyone [Reviewer/Blogger] who chooses to do it different. I know some don't mind spoilers who read the reviews).

When I got this book earlier this week on Kindle, it was on .01 (cent). Along with a few other books I got. That's what made me get them. I will try to read the others but if I don't, well, they were only a penny each...So no loss there! lol... ( )
