Ty is super excited that his friend is coming back to school after being out for a while sick. Ty cannot wait to play with Joseph . But, Tys feelings become hurt when all his classmates are playing with Joseph and not giving Ty anytime. Ty had many plans for Joseph like catching a bird. One day Ty was visiting his mother in the nursing home when he found an injured bird. This injured bird helped teach Ty responsibility. Learning that the bird needed extra care helped Ty understand the situation Joesph was in. The moral of the story is that things change and it's not always easy. I think this is a big lesson for a second grader or even a third grader to learn. It is also to always stay positive and and be kind. Even though Ty was upset that Joesph had others to play with he never did take it out on others. ( )
