This book is based on the television series "Poltergeist: The Legacy," and basically reads like a written "episode." The story is interesting: Father Phillip has a vision of a strange woman who seems to be asking for help, while Nick has a strange encounter with sharks while diving. Soon, after Rachel begins to investigate the disappearance of the woman in Phillip's vision, the members of the Legacy begin to suspect that the two events are connected - and only the first of many. But is the Legacy being attacked? Or warned? Or is something else behind these strange and sinister events?

I enjoyed this book more than "The Hidden Saint," but only marginally. I enjoyed the Egyptian aspect of the plot (although I bristled at the idea that Horus and the other Egyptian animal gods were really evil), and this book was much better in terms of the actual writing. It was still short on character development and backstory (which was the reason I'd picked it up in the first place), but perhaps the author wasn't given leeway to "play" with the characters to this degree. In any case, it was a decent, quick read, but nothing spectacular. ( )
