Those struggling with addiction have an advantage over everyone else. They recognize their need and are in a position to receive the fullness of grace.Countless people struggle with addictions. Some suffer in silence as they try to hide their failures from the world. Others have spiraled out of control and cannot keep their lives together. Most advice on dealing with addictions provides little more than coping mechanisms, but do little to change the inner life of a person. Yet God has provided a way. People may abandon you, religion may have failed you, but God's mercies cannot fail. In the midst of our feelings of failure, we often think that God is angry and rejecting us. Nothing could be farther from the truth. God delights in showing His power in the lives of those who cannot rise above their weaknesses. Rather than rejecting us, God is waiting in the pit of despair with an outstretched arm. He rescues the captives and heals the broken hearted. The Psalmist said it best, "If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I say, Surely the darkness shall fall on me, the darkness and the light are both alike to You."If you feel like hell has swallowed you, or the darkness of addiction has engulfed you, look up, for darkness cannot hide you from God's hand of deliverance. He delights in mercy and is now beside you. Learn how God has already made the way of escape! No one is outside of His grace. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
