I have read a lot of YA stories and found this enjoyable, if a little slow in the middle. A lot going on and more characters coming in all the time. Still, as I say, enjoyable. (  ) SuzieEN | May 2, 2022 | I am normally a fan of paranormal books and this being about shapeshifters, definitely interested me. This book, however, wasn't my cup of tea. Jackie, the main character, discovers shes a shifter. A rare one, of course. She accepts that as truth very nonchalantly after being kidnapped by someone saying he's going to train her. I'm not 17 but even as a 17 year old, I wouldn't have taken it for the truth so quickly. Add to it all this other stuff (shifting vampire, fae, werewolves) and I just couldn't do it. But the flaw that annoyed me the most was the absurd thought processes of the MC.
The ridiculous thoughts and decisions are a plot device used to steer where the author wants to go but it's as subtle as a brick to the face.
This has fanfiction quality at best. (
