The toast of society, Viola is enjoying her meteoric success until all her hopes are shattered at the hands of a duel that proves deadly. It's hard to forgive yourself when the blame continues to come from others as well. Now she has to contend with a broken heart, a guilty conscience and a sexy but vengeful Earl. Shunned No More shows that even in one's darkest hour there is always hope. Learning is a task never outgrown and forgiveness can prove a balm for the soul. Ms. McKnight tackles the benefits of having an open heart and a compassionate spirit while rebuilding trust and finding hope. ( ) Three stars! Lady Viola struck me as a spoiled self centered brat. But I like how the deaths of the dueling twins left a lasting impact on her. She spent a lot of time "atoning" for her behaviors. Brock, however, starts out with a strong desire for revenge. Over time, he realizes that Lady Viola is no longer the brat he once knew. Hatred turns into respect and love, but not without a couple obstacles. Is it something I would like to read again? Probably not. But I can see why it appeals to other people. I was given a free copy of an ARC for an honest for netgalley. As I started reading it, I said to myself I am pretty sure I have read this book years before and lo and behold I did, and unfortunately, I had to do it again.. Not that it is horrible mind you, at first I was intrigued, so once committed I decided lets carry on, I did say I would after all. I can not say that it was a great love story, because they truly did not spend enough time together. Not fighting, nor getting to know one another, so how would they develop feeling towards one another.. They may have been attracted to each other, but that was it. So it is a great leap of faith that I find that they fell in love, how I ask myself? They hated each other. And with reason, so again when did get to develop such strong feeling? There were a lot of unanswered issues in the book. Also, what happened to all of the villains? geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
