Song Of The West Family obligations brought former Olympian Samantha Evans back to Wyoming. Though the towering mountains called to her, she never intended to stay forever. She was determined to return home after her sisterâ__s baby was safely born. Until Jake Tanner made it impossible for her to leave. Even though her sister no longer needed her, Samantha realised that she wasnâ__t ready to say goodbye. Was it because she had fallen in love with the beautiful countryside, or could Samantha admit to herself that it was actually Jake that made her want to stay? First Impressions Ready to escape the rat-race and endless stream of gold-digging women, wealthy businessman Vance Banning finds solace in a small, rural retreat. Telling the townsfolk that heâ__s an out-of-work carpenter, Vance settles into the peaceful town and plans to stay away from women. The last thing he needs is an attractive and charitable neighbour -- but thereâ__s something about Shane Abbott he just canâ__t ignore. Vance has been burned once before by a past lover, so only a fool would fall for the same innocent act again. But he has no idea how relentless Shane can be when it comes to lending a helping hand -- or a loving heart.… (meer)

Ah, Harlequin cashing in on Nora Roberts' fame by publishing another set of books from her backlist with a set that vaguely has an association with snow and Christmas. It's by no means her best work, both were originally published in 1984 and 1982 respectively and show the aged romance tropes of the time. Nora does a good job with the skills and tropes and produces okay romances, on these she should not be judged tho.

Shane Abbott (this name did throw me a bit out of the story, to me Shane is male) returns to her country home town to find a new life for herself, she decides to create an Antiques shop and museum in her family home and asks a guy who is renovating his own house to help little knowing that the grumpy neighbour is in fact dealing with a lot of issues including his wife's murder and distrust of everyone.

Pretty predictable but readable.

I've read Song of the West before, still this cowboy meets out-of-town girl and discovers that he wants her is harmless entertainment.

It's not the best she has done but I found them quite readable and diverting, I was looking for a bit more Christmassy to get me into the season but otherwise it was fun. ( )
