- Age: End of primary to intermediate and could even apply to middle schoolers

- This book is a collection of quotes from Dr. Seuss's books about advice of life. I love how it can pertain to anyone as it has quotes about studying, trying new things, respect your elders, and so much more.

- I would have it in my classroom as it has wonderful quotes.

Dr. Seuss has a lot of helpful and amusing advice for life, but this book which collects a variety of his quotes isn't particularly well done. I like the idea of gathering the best of Seuss together, but pulled out of their context a lot of the quotes seem to lose their meaning and impact. Much better to give readers each Seussical story on its own, along with their unique illustrations, so that readers can get the whole moral (or lack there of in a few cases) for themselves. ( )

When folks think about Dr. Seuss, the first thing that typically comes to mind are colorful images and fun, often newly-created creatures. The second thing that is just as important are his messages that many can recite one, two or more two from heart. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” and “A person’s a person, no matter how small.” are mine. This book provides some of the best quotes from his books presented on pages with art from the associated books and the theme/message/lesson. It’s a pleasure to re-read those that I knew and happy to see them included. It’s also a pleasure to read several from books that I’ve never read. The book starts and ends with quotes from “Oh, the Place You’ll Go!” which aligns with the books’ title. Definitely a buy for fans of Dr. Seuss. It’s also good for someone who wants to own only one Dr. Seuss book; all his best lessons are here. ( )

Age appropriateness: primary, intermediate, middle school
Review/critique: This was a fun book to read, it had many short bits from Dr. Seuss books which were titled differently in order to give advice. It was a fun read and it was very encouraging. It was a good poetry book b cause it showed among many elements of poetry it specifically showed rhyming which can be an essay way to introduce poetry.
