Great fantasy story. I was a little bit disappointed when the group crossed over into the human realm. I liked all of the characters who were well developed. The writing was smooth with only a few bumps in the road. Beware the cliff hanger ending. ( )

Eden has never been one who was comfortable in the world around him. He's different, and other people seem to have a hard time understanding him. So when he finds himself transported to another world while running from some would-be attackers, he sees an opportunity. This new world feels more comfortable to him, and he quickly finds a place where he belongs. But even though it brings a sense of belonging, this new world is not without conflict and new challenges present themselves. ( )

This was really good. It had a very interesting plot. I loved the different incarnation of elves in this one. They were perfect and yet not. The back story of each of the characters was intricate, original and in most cases completely heartbreaking. I am very much looking forward to the sequel because it just can't end like that.

If I have one complaint it was the dialogue. In many places it was just over done and a lot repetitive. Also the dialect didn't really match. I understand that the two worlds used to be one, but it was thousands of years prior and most of the fae did not travel to the human realm, yet they used human slang like it was their first language. It just didn't match. In one block of dialogue Eden sounded like he was from the fae realm, very proper and Old English sounding, and then in another he sounded like he was from modern London, and in yet another he was an Alabama native. To me it would have made more sense for it to mishmash together at once. Almost like Spanglish where half the words in one sentence are Spanish and the other half English. That would have made more sense to me. The author had proper, regal elves speaking a bit too much like common Americans for my tastes. But then half the time they spoke as one would expect and elf to speak. There was no consistency with the dialogue; the characters often repeated themselves in the same block of dialogue which made it confusing and a bit annoying. But the narrative was wonderful and flowed nicely. ( )
