"This fascinating addition to our best-selling Who Was...? series does not settle questions of theology. Instead, it presents young readers with a biography that covers what is known historically about Jesus and places in his life in the context of his world when Jerusalem was part of the Roman Empire. In an even-handed and easy-to-read narrative, this title--illustrated with eighty black-and-white drawings--also explains the early origins of Christianity and how it became a major religion"--… (meer)

Who was Jesus? A Jewish boy born two thousand years ago? A preacher put to death for his teachers? The man who Christians believe is the son of God? All of the above! Find out more in this illustrated book.

This was an okay book. I learned many knew things about Jesus. He did some pretty amazing things. He amazes me. The author put time and effort into this but I would still rather read a fiction book. I have read another book sort of like this about Walt Disney. But the illustrations were nice.

This book was about how Jesus was sent from the Heavens to show all of the people in this unfair world how to believe in God, our savior. Jesus did many good/great things during his time, but many people were against him. He turned water into wine. And he turned some fish and bread into a meal for many, many people. He had 12 apostles how adored him dearly, but they made mistakes. Jesus even died on the cross for everyone in the world to go to heaven.

This was actually a very interesting book. Growing up Catholic, I am very aware of who Jesus is and what he did, but this book brings that information to children in a more condensed, yet accurate way. I really liked how there were maps and pictures to help emphasize where Jesus lived and what he looked like. I also really liked how there was a timeline in the back of the book that linked to other things that were happening in the world at that time. The third thing I really liked was how accurate to the New Testament this book was. You can definately tell that Ellen Morgan did her research when she wrote this book. The main theme of the book was Jesus and his life. ( )
