Ellen Stoll Walsh's, "Dot and Jabber and the Great Acorn Mystery," was about mouse detectives solving a mystery about a small oak tree that appeared. Confusion began when the detectives noticed the tree appeared but there was no sign of any other oak trees around. The detectives used their prior knowledge to know acorns are seeds for oak trees, so in order for one to grow, there had to be an acorn planted. The big mystery was finding out where the acorn came from. The detectives went on a mystery hunt to find that a squirrel had been planting them, which cracked the case for the detectives. This book would be great for kids to learn how to solve problems when a mystery is involved. This book can allow students to explore like detectives and even give them an interest of becoming a detective one day. This book also gives students knowledge of acorns and oak trees, and how the cycle repeats itself in order for the oak trees to grow. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
