This was a bit eh, and felt a bit like the backsliding around the second volume of Hickman's Avengers - SHIELD's manhunt for the Illuminati just isn't that interesting to me, and feels like a boring sideshow after all of the incursion fireworks. There's some stuff I really, really like in here too, though - the revelations about where Stark and Strange have taken off to are genuinely great (even if the Iron Man-centric issue is another one of those "wait, did I miss an issue?" stories where Hickman refers back to events we haven't seen in Avengers/New Avengers as if they were common knowledge), and Sunspot is fast becoming one of my favorite characters in all of this. ( ) At this point I'm just reading these to get to secret wars. I don't like because Reed is the smartest that he thinks he can make any call he needs to. Steve has a right to be mad but he isn't focusing on what matters. The Sunspot story line is the one I like, at least he has his priorities right. I hope he achieves on his end. The second volume in Jonathan Hickman's big lead up to Secret Wars left me wanting a little. The entire volume leads up to one big battle between the three groups all trying to figure out how to stop the Final Incursion: the Illuminati, the Cabal, and SHIELD. I didn't really feel like a whole lot was going on in this volume leading up to the battle (or maybe it's just that I'm a little burnt out on this story at this point, as it really has been going on for years now), but when each of the groups kept throwing a larger, more surprising and shocking group at each other, I really began to roll my eyes. It's getting old, and I'm not really sure that I care about what happens at this point leading up to Secret Wars. There's just been way too much lead up; get to the point already, Marvel! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
