I really enjoyed this book. Resnick has a good reputation and this book lived up to it. Its not heavy scifi loaded with social issues, but it is good classic scifi. Sort of a cross between Foundation and Vance's Demon Princes and Dune. Far in the future, FTL travel has spread humanity far and wide, resulting in a sort of 'wild west' frontier atmosphere on many planets, including heroes and gunslingers with colorful names and wide reputations. This is the story of a conflict between some of them - a religious leader, a famous gunman and a prophet that can see the future. The third in a series. ( )

A nice space western through the galaxy - Penelope Bailey is a believable character, the Iceman is is a great anti-hero. This is a fine conclusion to an interesting premise. ( )
