At this point a lot of these books seem to relay the same type of information, but I still find them beneficial as there's always something new to me to take in and utilize. In this one I appreciated how she broke down buying versus renting homes and all the pros and cons of each; her idea is always that you have to do what's best for you rather than what's supposedly typically done. It was an interesting listen too because it was written in the halcyon days when Obama was still president and no one had any idea of what was coming. Just to get it out of the way of the review, yes, it took me a very long time to get used to her using this word in nearly every few sentences as I'm not a big person for language, but that said -- this book is beyond on amazing. I don't know that I went into listening to this one with much in the way of expectations or assumptions about it making me figure things out. Yet since starting to listen to it I've reordered how I handle my autopay, my credit cards, my planning. I got in touch with a long term planner (retirement, stocks, bonds, IRA's, etc) because of some of the things she said. I reordered and added to my 1-3-5-10-lifetime goal sheets from my Rituals for Living Dreambook, so that I could be planning for retirement, when to be able have how much on hand for projects, when I'd like to be paying what annually to my two favorites charities, and on and on. Definitely recommending it to anyone wanting to look into handling their finances, in a simple, no punches pulled, no crazy complex indecipherable lingo, and a lot of happy, but hard hitting, true to the world, facts and plans. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

I'm probably somewhere in the intermediate level when it comes to handling my finances, and I was hoping for something a bit more advanced and less focused on paying off debt and being able to afford your car payments. (Though, hey, no judgement - if that's where you are, this book will be perfect for you!) I would recommend RICH BITCH to any woman just starting out on her own. If you've got a young adult daughter, this would make a great gift! ( )
