Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Taryn's Camera (4)
After her experience in Georgia, mixed-media artist Taryn Magill is ready for a break. When she's offered the job at historic Shaker Village, known colloquially as "Shaker Town," in central Kentucky, she's ecstatic. The quaint, beautifully restored site is just what she needs to unwind, regroup, and relax. But the ghosts are restless. At first, the images of the past that her beloved camera, Miss Dixie, picks up are exciting. Taryn is finally able to see something that many visitors and historians would kill for-the mysterious Shakers in action. The village is alive like never before. Things take a deadly turn, however, when Taryn witnesses a murder. Evil lurks amongst the idyllic setting and it's wrapping its icy fingers around Taryn, threatening to pull her under and into a world she might never escape. Can she solve one of Shaker Town's most horrifying mysteries and finally put things to rest there? Or will she succumb to the evil and madness that haunt her? The problem is that although I suspect that the author or someone she loves suffers with medical issues, this book became overwhelmed with details of symptoms, struggles and treatment. I sympathise, but I want to read a well done paranormal story, not a medical reference book.
#3 in the series started with the focus on medical stuff, #4 is worse. I'm not sure I'll continue with the series, which is just too darn bad because the concept and writing is otherwise well done. ( )
