Dopadení Adolfa Eichmanna v Argentině a jeho únos do Izraele bylo akcí naprosto výjimečnou, byl to skutečně "největší hon na člověka v dějinách". Sám autor čtivé, napínavé a věrohodné knihy byl předním pronásledovatelem a především skvělým organizátorem vynikajícího čtyřčlenného týmu, který tuto operaci musel provést v naprostém utajení a v nesmírně obtížných podmínkách. Patnáctileté stíhání hlavního nacistického organizátora vyhlazování Židů skončilo úspěchem roku 1960.
Mosad: operace Eichmann je neobvykle napínavé vylíčení jedné z nejodvážnějších operací izraelské tajné služby – únosu Adolfa Eichmanna, bývalého vysokého funkcionáře nacistické říše, osobně zodpovědného za vyvraždění šesti milionů Židů, který se skrýval v Argentině. Čtenář podrobného popisu celé akce žasne, jak sebemenší neopatrnost nebo nepředvídaná maličkost může během okamžiku celou operaci zmařit. A přestože známe konečný výsledek, jde o velice napínavou hru o každý utajený krok, umocněný psychologií masového vraha a jeho přeživších obětí. Akce je vedena s dokonalým sebeovládáním všech „lovců“ a především jejich šéfa, Issera Harela (1912–2003), zakladatele Mosadu a autora této neobvykle realistické knihy. Kniha získala právem cenu Asociace amerických autorů detektivek, přestože není vymyšlená – názorně totiž ukazuje, v čem je podstata detektivního napětí.
Největším překvapením je chování samotného Eichmanna, svědomitého úředníka a dobrého otce rodiny, odsouzeného k trestu smrti (paradoxně v zemi, která trest smrti neuznává) nakonec jakoby jen za působení v mašinérii odosobněného zla. Jak napsala H. Arendtová ve svém slavném díle Eichmann v Jeruzalémě: Zpráva o banalitě zla, proces s Eichmannem poprvé v historii vyjevil totalitní přeměnu zla na jakousi banální zástupnou záležitost, zcela oddělenou od svědomí i osobního života. This is the story of the capture of Adolf Eichmann in Argentina by Jewish agents as told by the operation leader.

Interesting how they heard about him being there from someone who told someone who told someone and it eventually got back to the people that could go get him.

One of the best parts about the way this story is told is how the author explains the personal connections between the agents history of harm from the efforts to exterminate them and Eichmann. Some of their stories were horrible, about how their family members were killed before their eyes or how they were seperated in a death camp never to see each other again. They smuggled him out of Argentina in a plane. They told the crew who they had prisenor as they were taking off. One of them had watched his younger brother be killed in front of him and his mother and sister were sent to the gas chambers. He immeditatly burst into tears when was told they had caught Eichmann. It seemed like every one of the agents had some personal loss from the Nazi genocide. And yet one of them discussed whether it was right for them to make provision for Eichmann's family in Argentina since they were snatching away the breadwinner.

Fairly well paced though I could see where an outside author could tie all the pieces together well for a faster paced re-telling. The book does not discuss Argentina's reaction when they found out that Israel snatched this guy up and snuck him out of their country. And it does not discuss the trial of Eichmann or trial results.
