Writing action isn't really his strong suit, methinks.
Also the explanations at the end were a bit of an information dump.

Hadrian and Royce bantering is the best thing ever.
The story wasn't bad either, but if fell rather flat overall.

Still, this is a fine enough romp if you have a spare moment. ( )

Hadrian and Royce have been operating a very successful thieves-for-hire business for several years, but this latest proposition is truly unusual. A young heiress wants them to kidnap her, to attract the interest of a most desirable potential suitor. She won't even get to meet him if they don't, because her father locks her in a steel box whenever he visits.

Something is not what it seems here. Her story does not really make sense, and yet she seems completely sincere. What's really going on? Is someone setting Royce and Hadrian up, or attempting to use them as tools in some larger scheme?

Royce is determined to get to the bottom of it. No one uses him as a tool; his professional integrity is at stake. Can this girl really be as innocent as she seems? If she is, what's really going on?

When they visit her home, they find an incredible tale--literally incredible. Royce doesn't believe it.

What they uncover instead is even stranger.

Every one of the few Riyria stories I've read or listened to has been both interesting, and a lot of fun. This one is no different. Recommended.

Professional Integrity (Riyria #2.6) by Michael J. Sullivan is an awesome book that had twists and turns all over the place. Our heroes were hired the a young lass to kidnap her so one of the guys would rescue her and she would be notice by this handsome guy. The heroes were not interested, even with the large amount of money she offered until she said that her dad locked her in a metal box on the nights the guy comes over. Now, intrigued, they took the case just to see what was going on. It was a very exciting and clever book. Loved it! LOTS of twists! It was free on amazon audio. ( )
