Very interesting as a historical anthology of American drama, from Royal Tyler's The Contrast (1787) all the way to Eugene O'Neill's The Great God Brown. Many of the items are of only historical interest and rarely found elsewhere. Joaquin Miller's The Danites in the Sierras is of interest for the Mormon connection. ( )

Please distinguish between this Allan Halline anthology of American Plays (1935; reprinted 1976), and Halline's later collection for Modern Library, Six Modern American Plays (1951). Thank you.
