Everything about this is AMAZING! (Yes, I thought that in Zim's voice as I typed it. No, I'm not sorry). ( )

Invader Zim, Volume 1 picks up where the Nickelodeon series left off, with Zim attempting to conquer Earth on behalf of the Irken Armada with robot Gir as his classmate Dib tries to thwart his plans while railing to an indifferent world that an alien invasion is on the way. Fans of the television series will find the stories and characters they love in these books, complete with the antics and occasional lack of continuity that make Invader Zim the cult favorite it remains. This volume collects the first five comics from Oni Press, written by Jhonen Vasquez and Eric Trueheart with pencils by Aaron Alexovich and inks by Megan Lawton. ( )

The graphic novel is almost as good as the show! The only thing it is missing is the voices, which I can do in my head.... Anyways, if you are a big fan of the show, the authors stuck close to the characters as we know them but also adapted them to evolve a little into their respective roles. The same dry, dark humor is there and even a filler "episode"! For those that are new to Invader Zim... I would watch the show then read the comic ( )
