Throughout this book, no one is willing to share until they understand how much it hurts the other. I like how the book chooses two unlikely friends: the tiger and the rat, and I would read it to my students, because it shares both sides of the story. Sharing is an important lesson to learn at a young age, so I would read it to grades PreK-1st. ( ) The rat and the tiger are friends but the rat doesn't think he is being treated fairly. He believes the tiger is taking advantage of him being small. The rat doesn't want to speak up because he's afraid of what might happen. The last straw for the rat is when the tiger knocks down the tall building he made out of blocks. He fusses at the tiger and says they are no longer friends. The tiger feels awful and tries to make it up to the rat. He does all the things the rat had to do and the rat is acting like the tiger. The rat eventually becomes his friend again and they learn to have an equal relationship. This is a great book to teach about friendship roles to students. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
