[1.5] i know so many people loved this and the cover is so beautifully designed but.....i feel like i was completely and utterly duped. not even the narrators or the author's prose could salvage the hot mess that is this book.

the title accurately foretold my reading experience: “the spiral down”…..to crash land into an erupting volcano, culminating in a fiery explosion leaving no trace behind, only devastation and disappointment.

This is such a fantastic book!

Henry Alexander and Evan Roth are fabulous characters, both damaged, both really fighting to not fall in love with each other, and, of course, failing miserably.

Their journey is rocky and difficult, but when things seem to be doomed, a little bit of help from Henry's best friend Leevee, helps Evan to understand what's going on and push him to go after Henry and fix their relationship.

A great storyline, a fantastic storytelling, and amazing readers made this audiobook a joy.

Truly recommended. ( )
