He was unelected and served a short term. As President (and the book handles this well) he sought to heal the country's trauma from the lengthy Watergate scandal. ( ) An honest account of a man who never really aspired to be the President, but who was (through force of circumstances) thrust into the office. Ford is quite unique in the fact that he was a truly humble man and a politician. Most political memoirs are filled with justifications and rewriting of the record. This has some of that, but not to the extent of others. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
