I wish Shannon would have had a moment where she could scream at all of her brothers so stfu and grow tf up lol as much as I love the Walsh brothers, they all deserved a good kick in the ass. ( )

It takes real talent and skill to create a series that book after book just keeps getting better and better.

After the death of her mother at a young age, and left with an alcoholic father, Shannon Walsh had no choice but to become the cornerstone of her family, that one brick that holds the rest together.

Smart, strong-willed and as tough as nails, Shannon is a force to be reckoned with. She runs her life, her family and their business with complete dedication and a serious set of balls.

So what kind of man could possibly keep up with the fiery redhead and get her to submit?

Will is a big, sexy Navy Seal who is back in the US to attend the wedding of his sister Lauren. For those of you who haven’t read book one in the Walsh series, Underneath It All, Lauren is getting married to Matt Walsh, Shannon’s brother. At the wedding Will and Shannon are forced together where insults are thrown and sparks fly. It all leads to a wild night with multiple orgasms and lots of broken hotel room furniture.

When one night isn’t enough, Shannon and Will begin a secret “relationship” away from their families. But even beyond the amazing sex and chemistry things between them are not without its problems. Shannon inability to give up control, conflict between the Walsh sibling and Will’s time away at work with the Seals all add drama and conflict that provides depth and balance to the story.

Well written and entertaining, The Cornerstone really had everything I wanted from Shannon’s book. The insults and witty quips had me smiling throughout the entire book. The power struggle between Shannon and Will was just as much of a turn on as the actual sex. It was all so deliciously wonderful. My ultimate porn would be to grab a tub of popcorn, sit back and watch the verbal sarcasm fly. And the texting! I laughed out loud, I got a little hot and I fell even further into smiley-happy-adorable-love with this fictional couple.
The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the long gaps of them being apart seeing as Shannon couldn't relinquish control of her brothers lives long enough to actually live! I am so glad she worked her shit out!

If you haven’t checked out this series you seriously need to get on it right now. I adore the Walsh family and I can’t wait for more from Kate Canterbary. ( )

I recently picked up a recent Canterbary romance and quite enjoyed it. Having quit this series long ago, on book #1 if I'm not mistaken I thought I'll do the UnSam thing and just pick up those that rated highly.

I started and read it quickly, then by 31% I stalled out and stopped caring. I'm grateful for how far it seems this author has come, but I also begin to understand my need to read "quiet" romance. Not those without drama. Just those that the protagonists wouldn't be the type in real life to tell you every detail about their weekend, swear (I LOVE SWEARING) constantly, and run around in their siblings way constantly. These are overgrown children trying to convince me how boss they all are and it makes me so tired. I'll take cowards any day.

But there's something to be said for tension and timelines that make sense, and I just am not feeling this at all.

Now, this time I expect you to know me and truly believe me when I say: This is my favorite Walsh Family series book. Kate Canterbary has grasped my inner desire for a strong female lead in a male dominated world and BOOM gave her a hero to match.

Woot! It’s like someone has heard my poor reader's deepest desires and delivered that and MORE!

I mean COME on Will is the perfect and I mean perfect mate for Shannon. Hands down nailed the give and take, sexual tension and all the things I want in a contemporary romance. I already had a girl crush for Shannon before this book. After, I want to carry her children and worship her. She is a strong female lead - many would call a ball buster - but you get why and how she is molded to a driven and loving woman. Ms. Canterbary matches her up with a man who believes breaking and entering is permission to move in.

Again: Read the series in order.Start with book one. Especially to finally understand what makes this Walsh sibling tick. I will say this book is a welcome break after the emotional ride of book 3.

Each book that Kate Canterbary has delivered keeps me engrossed and turning the pages to learn more. Her characters are diverse in their real world issues so you are never bored or wanting to move on. Again a solid 5 out 5 star read for me and a personal favorite that I will re-read. ( )

To be fair to this review, I have to admit that I just powered through all the books in this series that have been released to date, so trying to tease out my thoughts about them individually will be challenging. However, I think it's fair to saw that I liked them!

Also, all of these books take place through overlapping sequences of time and events, so you get to see some of them through multiple points of view. This makes it especially rich and interesting, but does mean that they will lose something as stand alones. I highly suggest reading them in order.

It's fantastic to finally see Shannon Walsh from inside her own head. Totally frickin' heart-rending, as well, but the strength of these two characters is cool. My biggest complaint about this book is totally stupid but I just can't get passed it. There is no way that a spec ops guy is rocking the haircut on the model on the cover. Stupid, but it actually annoys me enough to impact my enjoyment of the story. Other than that, totally loved it. ( )
