Absolutely AWESOME book. Most other AJAX books get you working with AJAX. This books not only gets you going, but really explains what's going on under the hood.

It's also really balanced, mentioning a number of technologies (Microsoft and not) and not pushing any one over the others.

If you're interested in AJAX, this is a MUST have (IIRC there is a cheap e-book version) (
