Another great outing for modern teenage Lois Lane. The ending soothed my mushy heart and I'm anxious to see what happens in the next one! ( )

This follow-up to Fallout is everything that I expected and more. In the further adventures of teen Lois Lane, intrepid reporter, Lane and company uncover a mystery revolving around Maddy's sister that has larger ramifications about Metropolis politics.

It's a bit hard to believe that there was a twisty and science-fiction enough plot to follow-up from Book 1, but Bond delivers. This was a truly satisfying read that contained comic book science, political shenanigans, and just enough teen drama to remind the reader that this was still high school. There was also even more intriguing plot development about the conspiracy message board and Lois's relationship with Clark Kent -- I mean, SmallvilleGuy. I really want to know what is going on behind the scenes with TheInventor and the role General Lane has in everything.

One thing I truly appreciate in this series is the depiction of strong friendships among the characters, including between Lois and her sister Lucy, who is more or less a non-entity in the comic books. This is a group that supports each other instead of competing or tearing each other down. Even the mean girl isn't really a mean girl, and I love that so much.

I look forward to seeing the further adventures of Lois Lane, teen reporter.

I have a soft spot for this book series. It's silly and crazy and a little (okay, a lot) cheesy at some points but I love it and I love the characters. There also aren't a ton of books about female journalists so I'll take what I can get but I do love Lois Lane. I don't think I loved this quite as much the first book but I still got so much joy out of this sequel. In my review of the first book, I said that I wanted to see more out of James character once he started to get close to Lois and that was definitely done in this book so I really appreciated that aspect of the book. I'm usually not one that really cares about romance but there was some weird romance stuff going on with secondary characters that I would like to see resolved in the next book. Also in this book, I still continued to like the online relationship of Lois and "Smallvilleguy" but they were trying to figure out some mystery that had something to do with a mysterious figure on the forum that held stories about a 'flying man' and I just wasn't very invested in it. It was an interesting enough plot point but it just didn't push my buttons as much as the rest of the story did. I loved learning more about the background of the super interesting secondary characters. There was a lot of interesting stuff we learned about all of Lois' new friends and their families that I really enjoyed. I like that this series places very little emphasis on the Smallvilleguy/Superman/Clark Kent character. I like Superman but he's never been a favorite and I am much more interested in learning about Lois, her friends, and their journalistic pursuits. I thought that the mystery/story that Lois was pursuing in this book was a little sillier than the one in this first book but not in a bad way. The inclusion of Maddy's sister, Melody was a nice choice because it allowed for readers to learn more about that relationship that was introduced in this first book. Even though I didn't love this book quite as much as the first one, I think I liked the ending a bit more. Something about it felt really good to me and I felt like it really brought out how passionate Lois is about reporting, which I liked a lot. Overall a strong sequel that I really enjoyed and leaves me longing for the next book and I wish the release date was closer than it is. ( )

I love the Lois Lane series! Ms. Bond has done such a great job of portraying this iconic comic book/movie/TV character as a relatable real person in all her foibles and strengths. Lois is feisty and vulnerable at the same time. Lois is a smart, funny, insecure teenager with a nose for news and for sticking up for people in trouble; she also just happens to have an ongoing online relationship with a mysterious young man screennamed "Smallville Guy." In this volume, Lois and her companions from The Daily Scoop get involved in a mystery when the twin sister of Lois' friend Maddy collapses, suffering from weird seizures with visions. This leads them to shady underground mad science labs and other duplicitous things. Plus, Lois and Smallville Guy work together to try to prevent the shutdown of their online meeting space, the forums where people are talking about unexplained "flying man sightings." Throughout the book, Lois's relationship with Clark, I mean Smallville Guy, grows, and that's of course the BEST THING EVER about these books--they are adorable, romantic, and sooooo much fun for Lois&Clark fans. There's also great stuff with Lois and her gruff military dad and her sister Lucy, of course. Love it! ( )

I think I liked this one even more than the last book. Such a delight. I LOVE how competent Lois is. ( )
