This adorable book looks at the bond between animal mothers and their offspring, from protective Mommy polar bears to playful orang-utans. Fascinating facts about parenthood in the animal kingdom will captivate young readers, for example did you know elephant calves are raised by their mothers and grandmothers? Cute photographs and easy-to-read text make this perfect for young readers. I Love Mom provides the perfect opportunity for parents and children to read together and explore the subject of human interaction, using loveable animals as examples. --Publisher Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Additionally, the initial phrases on each page were weird and really disrupted the flow of the story (sorry, I mean the factual presentation that read more like a slideshow than a book), and I wish they hadn't been included at all.
Examples:
1) "I'm so glad I look like you, Mom, because your face is beautiful." This one is especially problematic, because what about the kids reading this book that don't look like their parents? What would a foster or adopted child think if they read this statement? Even my own kids... they take after their father and don't really resemble me at all.
2) "Oh no, it's all gone dark. Where is everyone?" What does that even mean? How am I supposed to explain this statement to my kids?
3) "I know you want the best for me, Mom. Wherever you lead, I will follow." Ughhh.
4) "I promise to have a bath, Mom... right after you have had yours." THESE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOK.
