Part road trip, part house party. It has kind of a historical mystery feel to it, but the characters do have cell phones and everything. I liked both of the leads. The mystery wasn't great, but I was kept entertained, so overall I liked it. ( )

The librarian, the unfaithful leech, a bus full of mystery buffs, and. An insurance actuary? Slow start to a very good mystery novel with some incredible twists and ghastly red herrings. Loved it!
Gary Furlong does a great job as voice actor. ( )

I really liked this. Short & straightforward, this book was an easy read & made me miss taking my kid to school because I stayed up all night reading.

Carter & his (now) ex had planned this trip for two years. A trip to a Scottish Isle to visit their favorite mystery author’s home. Now, neither one wants to give up their ticket and Carter, his ex & the ex’s new boyfriend are traveling through the highlands. All 3 men are at odds with each other & it seems the new boyfriend is exceptionally jealous.

The mystery trip turns into a mystery itself with one elderly lady dying in her sleep and another woman going home under suspicious circumstances. The questions we are left with are, is someone picking off vacationers and does the new boyfriend have some disturbingly aggressive tendencies.

Also, is Carter falling for his vacation fling?

This does contain instalove, but it’s done well & the romance plot is minimal.

Just a fun mystery.

Also, has anyone been on one of these bus tours? I swear the author must have because they are so much like this. That feeling of seeing the same hairy coo every 30 minutes. ( )

Loved it.

Josh Lanyon does it again. Cosy mystery meets fish out of water/stranger in a strange land.
Well written and plotted, this book reminds me of a modern Christie, a la Murder on the Orient Express or Death on the Nile, albeit with a much less glamorous mode of transport. The romance is slow building and the two leads are really endearing. I love Lanyon's laid back approach to the romance.
Overall this book has humour, mystery, romance, and fun. What more could you want? ( )
