Brilliant story!
Short, succinct and spicy!
Made me think and wonder and hope!

Colm is on his was to spend Christmas with his brother – a spur of the moment surprise – when he is stranded by a blizzard in Boston. He is a man who lives in the present and takes pleasure where he finds it and he hopes to find it in the receptionist he flirts with at the counter of the hotel he has been sent to.

Amber is divorced, the mother of two teenagers and alone for the holidays while her children visit their father. With time on her hands and a house that is quiet she decides she will play tour guide to Colm and see what might happen.

I have to say this short novella is probably more fantasy than reality BUT it also has a fairytale feel that had me wondering if maybe…just maybe…the two might find a way to be together for longer than either thinks likely. I also would like to applaud the author for creating characters that were mature, realistic and willing to take a chance.
