New York
2. Write the summary of the book.
Some parts of New York have a mild climate and moderate amounts of precipitation( rain, snow, sleet, and hail) all year round. But people in northern New York endure long winters with below-freezing temperatures.
Workers in New York's cities make a wide variety of goods, from books to clothing, cameras to computers. New York is the country's second biggest producer of manufactured goods. Only California makes more goods each year.
3. Write your feelings about the book in details.
In fact, each New Yorker makes more than 5 pounds of garbage, or solid waste, a day. ... Since most of the state's land is used by people, New Yorkers have a hard time finding enough places to put all that waste (See p 54)
Although about 39 percent of New Yorker's garbage is recycled, they should hurry up to deal with the waste problem.
4. Write the words, phrases or sentences that impressed you most in the book and explain why they impressed you. Or you could write your questions about the book.
More than 50 percent of New York is covered with forest, and about 150 types of trees―including sugar maples, beeches, oaks, balsam firs, pines, and spruces―grow there (See p 17)
I didn't know the fact that New York is covered with forest more than 50 percent! ( )
