This is a secular book by an MIT PHD who looks at the complexity of scientific advancement and make a case that in a universe that prefers the state of chaos, our complex life forms on earth could not have grown from a sum of coincidences and that, despite the claims of the likes of Hawking and Goulding, there has to be some guiding force to bring it about. His explanations of the scientific processes that occur from cell division in reproduction to the complexities of the abilities of the human brain are generally interesting to follow. (

its a cool 200 pages of argument for intelligent design, philosophically weak, but lots of cool facts (

A Christian friend convinced me to read this, in an attempt to convert me. The entire book goes like this: "Hey, look at this really neat scientific thing. There, that proves that there is a god, right?"
