A well-written collection of short stories populated with interesting characters and scenarios. ( ) Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. I received this book through the LibraryThing Meber Giveaway program.Another fun-filled read from Appel. His books never fail to entertain me. While not my favorite of his collections, I found the short stories within to be light and easy to read. This was, definitely, not only one of the best short story collections I've read by Appel but also a fine exemplar of what a master of the short story can achieve. The stories here permeate, sink deep, and glow with their intensity. There is not a moment wasted and you feel fully invested with each of them and how they turn out. Overall, they met and surpassed expectations and I think anyone who appreciates the short story as a form (and even newcomers) would enjoy reading this. 4.75 stars- EXCELLENT. Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. Another great book containing 10 short stories Jacob Appel-style, random and intriguing. My favorite was "Boundaries", where a woman shows up at the Canadian border while the Border Patrol was eating their Christmas dinner. She has a rash which they believe to be smallpox, they thought they would end up dead, but when the authorities were called in, it turned out to be the "Wrong rash". Jacob's books keep you on your toes because just when you thought you have it figured out, it turns out to be something else. I really enjoy his books. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review., I am grateful for the opportunity. Thank you Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. I love Appel's short story collections and I'm very picky about short stories. All of these were deliciously dark and bizarre in such a fun way. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
