When Summer Ends is a cute book about a little girl discussing that she is going to be very said and cry when summer ends. The mother of the little girl wonders why and asks her and she says because everything good happens in the Summer. The little girl proceeds to tell her all the good things that happen and the mom asks about Autumn and winter and Spring and the little girl remembers all of them are fun and then she says nothing ever happens in the Summer at the end when remembering all the holidays through the seasons.

My personal reaction to the book was it made me excited for the next season and ours coming up is Autumn. It gave me a chance to think of the memories that I have with my family through the seasons. I think it will make kids excited for upcoming seasons as well as jumping into school.

I think a classroom extension would be to have kids write about there favorite season or to draw a picture representing a favorite season. Another class extension that would be neat is if it is fall go out side as a class and collect leaves and blow up some balloons and use modge podge and put them on the bottom half to form a bowl shape and you are incorporating a season with fun. After the leaves dry you pop the balloon and you have a bowl. ( )

This book is about a little girl who loves summer and does not like any other season. One day her mother reminds her of all of the wonderful things that happen in each season. Soon, the little girl realizes that she likes all of the seasons because fun things happen during each one.

A mother and daughter are talking about summer ending. The daughter tells her mom that she is going to cry when summer ends. The mother asks why. Everything good happens in summer the girl replies. The mother asks her next about autumn, and the girl replies I don't like autumn. The mom reminds the daughter of events that happen in autumn and the girl realizes that she likes autumn. The same happens for winter and spring. The daughter asks her mom when will summer be over and she replies why? The daughter says, because nothing good ever happens in summer. ( )
