If you like his work you owe it to yourself to listen to him read his work. Be warned though you will probably feel bad that you can't read them to your children as well as him. ( ![]() This story is about a children's imagination and many different crazy stories such as a crocodile going to the dentist, where shoes fly, and even sisters being auctioned off. It is a place where you wash your shadow and plant diamond gardens, a place where shoes fly, sisters are auctioned off, and crocodiles go to the dentist. A collection of poems and illustrations. Where the side walk ends is a beautiful book by Shel Silverstein. What makes this book unique is its little poems within. Each page is a new poem with a small illustration. It is perfect for readers of all ages! It shows repetitions, and is not overwhelming for struggling readers since each story is so small. This is one of my most favorite poetry books to this day! This book is awesome and has so many different themes and meanings behind all the poems.
There's some nice, lively stuff in here, good for reading aloud on a sleety weekend afternoon. Just don't make it the only book of verse on the children's shelves.
A boy who turns into a TV set and a girl who eats a whale are only two of the characters in a collection of humorous poetry illustrated with the author's own drawings. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
