First book my daughter read about the Babysitter's Little Sister series. She became hooked! ( ) This particular book in the "Little Sister's Club" series is a solid examples of a blended family's positive response to a serious event in this child's life. Karen, the main character, gets roller skates for her birthday, and shortly after breaks her arm. Her parents are divorced and both remarried, and often when parents divorce, it makes it hard for them to co-parent without clashing. However, in this book, Karen's family structure doesn't make any obstacles in getting her broken arm fixed. It actually makes it easier, since she has so many step and half siblings to take care of her after she gets home from the hospital. It's a good example of how being part of a blended family is normal and can be a positive part of a child's life. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
