In Rajasthan, agriculture is an important part of the economy. That means that htere is a growing battle for land between people and animal . Someone leaves the land because of the nilgai.
In the language o the region, the word "gai"means"cow"and the word"nil"means "blue" so thename nilgai means "blue cow"
In Hinduism, the cow is an important animal that has a high place in the Hindureligion. Doe to its name, the farmers of Rajasthan would get in trouble for harming the animals in the way.
Finally farmers changed the name of the animal from nilgai or "blue cow" to nilgodha or blue horse. ( )
