Karsynn is back in full force at the call centre with her wit, sharp tongue and hilarious innuendo. A colorful cast of characters that have evolved and some new ones that you get to know with depth. I found a faster pace and the story flowed well in this sequel. Karsynn has matured and Truong, who was a minor character in the first book has stepped up to best supporting actress... hem hem...actor. The author has established herself in the chick lit hall of fame with this book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

This novel focuses on Maddy's best friend from "Confessions", Karsynn.
We now have Karsynn working at the call center as a manager bringing with it a new host of responsibilities. Due to the new director, Carter Lockwood, Karsynn finds herself being forced to be more of a boss, than a friend.
I did end up liking this novel as I said, but not loving it. I think the main reasons that I ended up just liking this novel was Karsynn herself, the plot switch, and the lack of laugh out loud moments like there were in the last novel.
Though I liked the character of Karsynn in the last novel I wish that we had more of an idea why she did certain things in the last book. In this novel, none of that is touched upon. Also, the main idea of this novel is that due to Carter we have Karsynn growing up, and being a "boss", well I wish we had seen that development since I felt as readers we got a lot of tell not show.
Also, halfway through this novel, the plot turned into something else (preaching about big business) and I felt as if I got whiplash due to the change in the novel. Perhaps this would have made an interesting plot for novel three with another character, but having it switch halfway through and the ultimate resolution just seemed too pat to me.
Last, as I said this novel just was not as funny as the last novel. What made the last novel unique was hearing about how Maddy and the other call center workers dealt with being on the phone with irate customers and the strange things that happened. In this novel, I felt as if we got very little call center interactions that end up in laugh out loud moments.
Would recommend to fans of the first book in order to catch up with everyone.
I received this novel for free in the Amazon Kindle Lending Library. ( )
